The alpha male

Mattias started reading a book called The Game by Neil Strauss. He thinks it’s very entertaining. He would recommend it to male geeks and women that want’s to understand the male species a little better. It’s in everyone’s interest, that thinks that it can be difficult to flirt with and date women. And it’s interesting for women who want’s to protect themselfes against players.
In one part of the book, the character named Mystik (Neil Strauss menthor) goes throught the 5 (actually 6) alpha male characteristics with a group of newbies in a “getting better at dating” workshop they paid 500 USD each for.

He looked at Extramask. “Name the five characteristics of an alpha male.”
“Confidence?”
“Right. What else?”
“Strength?”
“No.”
“Body odor?”
He turned to Sweater and me. We were also clueless.
“The number one characteristic of an alpha male is the smile,” he said, beaming an artificial beam. “Smile when you enter a room. As soon you walk in a club, the game is on. And by smiling, you look like you’re together, you’re fun, and you’re somebody.”
He gestured to Sweater. “When you came in, you didn’t smile when you talked to us.”
“That’s just not me,” Sweater said. “I look silly when I smile.”
“If you keep doing what you’ve always done, you’ll keep getting what you’ve always gotten. It’s called the Mystery Method because I’m Mystery and it’s my method. So what I’m going to ask is that you indulge in some of my suggestions and try new things over the next four days. You are going to see a difference.”
Besides confidence and a smile, we learned the other characteristics of an alpha male were being well-groomed, possesing a sense of humor, connecting with people, and being seen as the social center of a room. No one bothered to tell Mystery that those where actually six characteristics.

Mattias: -”When I read this part of the book, I actually figured out that I don’t smile that often. I have this stupid idea, that I don’t look as good when I smile, as when I’m not. Deeply burried in my mind, this is something that’s been eating me. I do look good, with or without smile, but just to look yourself in the mirror and tell yourself that “no, you actually do look better with a smile” made a difference, my own image of myself was changing.
I got a friend named Roger, that always smiles. You can tell he is an alpha. He is not the best looker out there, but he got that self esteem and smile that makes women gather around him. I’ve always been wondering why that is. Now I know. “

Neil Strauss goes from not being cute or have a cool job, to getting any women he wants. Even if we don’t enjoy talking about this in the opened, it’s every mans secret dream.
